June 8, 2006 - The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education & Related Activities met today to work on a spending bill that allocates money for the many programs in the U.S. Departments of Labor, HHS and Education. The Subcommittee recommended that restoring funding for the CDC Epilepsy Program and maintaining level funding maintains level funding for the Epilepsy Program at the Health Resources Services Administration. The National Institutes of Health funding was decreased very slightly from last year. In a year when budgets are very tight and funding resources are limited, restoration of the CDC funding and holding the line on the HRSA and NIH funding is a very good outcome. More »
